I recently was hired to make a Final BFA show poster for the talented Stephanie Jarstad. Her photography show are portraits of blind people, and also photos taken by the people themselves. She gave them cameras and had them take photos of things they think are beautiful.

"Anything Goes/Only the Best" Sketch Book pages
I have decided that my blog will be more of a blog and I will add more random stuff more frequently. Here are some sneak peaks into my "anything goes/only the best" sketch booklet I have been working on. Its getting to be pretty fun. Each week I look through all my sketches and put anything I think is worthy in.

Hand Typography
I have been swamped recently. For those of you who don't know last this past August I was accepted into the Graphic Design BFA here at BYU. It has been a great and challenging experience and the teachers are really helping us work hard. As you can see my most recent sketches have been much more typographic. The image is of some recent type exploration.
Typografia Mexicana
As I looked at some recent ypography it reminded me of all the stuff I found in Mexico. Over my 2 year mission in mexico I was much more interested in Typography. (I guess I thought that was a little more reverent than drawing anything else). Here are some of the photos I took of stuff I found and some of the things I made. We wrote a lot of letters and so i naturally tried new type treatments. I'm most proud of the "Feliz Cumple Anos" I made for someone's birthday.

Summer is OVER...
Here are a ton of random things (photos, digital work, sketches, paintings) that I have either finally scanned or done this summer. I didn't think they were that special on their own, but together I can put them all up. That's what a blog is for right?

Forests Poster
This is another project from one of my Graphic Design Classes. We were supposed to design a poster for any worthy cause. Not an organization or company, just a cause. After some sketching I thought of this skull/forest idea. I added some of my process work for fun. I was really pleased with how it came out. 16" x 20" digital print backed on black foam-core board.

Wedding Design Work
I got roped into more design work for my brother's wedding. My Mom wanted a poster that would help explain to the people who came to the reception how the couple had met and what their plans were for the future. She also had me create 2 other signs. A "Just Married" sign for the back of the motorcycle, and a sign for the food table. I hate working for family, but I think these turned out pretty good. The reception had a very natural+vintage+classy look and I think the posters helped.
