Here are a ton of random things (photos, digital work, sketches, paintings) that I have either finally scanned or done this summer. I didn't think they were that special on their own, but together I can put them all up. That's what a blog is for right?

Forests Poster
This is another project from one of my Graphic Design Classes. We were supposed to design a poster for any worthy cause. Not an organization or company, just a cause. After some sketching I thought of this skull/forest idea. I added some of my process work for fun. I was really pleased with how it came out. 16" x 20" digital print backed on black foam-core board.

Wedding Design Work
I got roped into more design work for my brother's wedding. My Mom wanted a poster that would help explain to the people who came to the reception how the couple had met and what their plans were for the future. She also had me create 2 other signs. A "Just Married" sign for the back of the motorcycle, and a sign for the food table. I hate working for family, but I think these turned out pretty good. The reception had a very natural+vintage+classy look and I think the posters helped.

Lord of the Flies Dust Jacket
In my 2008 Freshman 2-Dimensional Design class we were assigned a book cover assignment. Our teacher wanted us to create a cover for one of our books. I created something I liked at the time, but now looking back I can see it was very sub par. Recently I decided to redo it to use it in my BFA application. I used the image that I had back in 2008 (my great roommate who was willing to pose with leaves in his hair and put pasta sauce on his face) and changed everything else. I was pleasantly surprised about the outcome. While in Utah (where I printed the book cover) I got to see my family, including my great brother in law who happens to be a photographer. He was willing to take some pictures of the book cover for me. Check out his stuff at http://www.pomazalphoto.com/#!utah_wedding_photographer/mainPage.

Wedding Invitations
These are the wedding invitations I recently did. They were pretty rushed, but the client just wanted something simple and classy for their summer wedding. I was worried because usually invites are so fancy, neat, or stuffy, and that isn't really my style. I was pleased on how they came out, and I have to say they don't look like your average wedding invites.

VAGD 245 Final (2012)
So I just finished up the final project in my VAGD 245 class. I was overly excited about the project and now that it is done I am very pleased with the way it turned out. One of the department wide projects is to create a functional CD packaging that reflects the artist's style and sound. Since I was loving the Lana del Rey CD 'Born to Die' I decided to choose her as my artist and create a vintage, yet expensive, and slightly dangerous feeling package. I worked with the image for the front (an image I found on the internet) and then some images my brother took in South Africa. I used a geometric sanserif typeface, something modern i guess. I researched the 60's and 70's and tried to make the photos look older. I was convinced I would make some type of vinyl record and base my design around that. Through class critique and the views shared by me teacher I decided to just do an EP or 7in vinyl record, which would only hold 4 songs. The rest was just refining the images and placement to help it all work together. I considered many different ways to add the lyrics for each song, but in the end decided that 4 separate lyric cards would be something people could also use and take out and have separate. I used images from 2 Polaroids I took a few years back and 2 old photos my Dad took from Hawaii. I also created 4 images in Illustrator (the diamond, the shell, the radio, and the rose) and used those throughout my design. I did 2 test prints and a final print, cut folded, and glued it all together and DONE!

Happy Birthday My Friends
Happy Birthday my friends.
Facebook is a beautiful thing. One of its finer parts is the Birthday Adviser that tells you each day who's birthday it is. Since this has been happening for a while people know can easily post on your timeline to wish you a happy birthday. For example on my birthday this past April 107 people wrote on my timeline.
But then again, since it is so easy it is also easy to look like you just typed 'Happy Birthday' thanks to the reminder and that is it. I try to post a picture on their timeline or make something quick to add. I thought I would post them here just because I want to post more stuff more frequently.
